Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zenica, prof. Ph.D. sc. Harun Hod\u017ei\u0107 presented certificates to 12 doctors and 12 nurses who have undergone additional education in the field of "Diabetology", and who will work in the first six local diabetes counseling centers in the area of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.<\/div>\n

In the first phase, counseling centers will be opened in Zenica, Te\u0161nje, Zavidovi\u0107i, \u017dep\u010d, Maglaj and Kaknje, and patients from other local communities will also receive support in them.<\/div>\n

- I am happy that on the International Day of Education, we ceremoniously awarded certificates to the first group of doctors and medical technicians who completed their education and thus gained the authority to hold diabetes clinics. Considering that it is an epidemic process in the world, I think that this more active approach to protecting the health of patients will give its results. I also hope that we will continue to implement this project, together with the Faculty of Medicine of UNZE, in the coming period, and that other doctors, who express their desire to work in this branch of medicine, will find their place - said the Minister of Health of ZDK Adnan Jupi\u0107.<\/div>\n

He states that in the future the intention is to strengthen the existing counseling centers, but also to open new ones in municipalities and cities that are not included in the first phase.<\/div>\n

- The education was realized in the past two months. In the first group there were 12 doctors, 12 nurses, that is, 12 teams that will start working in primary health care in diabetes counseling centers - Dean Hod\u017ei\u0107 points out.<\/div>\n

He thanked the Ministry and the Institute for Health and Food Safety in Zenica, who recognized the Zenica Faculty as an institution that can continue to conduct such educations for doctors and nurses in the future, and not only for students.<\/div>\n

The education project was designed by the Institute for Health and Food Safety, and was realized with the financial support of the pharmaceutical company Nordisk.<\/div>\n
