As part of the celebration of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Day, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Prof. Dr.Sc. Spahija Kozli\u0107 and Mr. Malik Ejubovi\u0107, representative of the Youth Commission of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Assembly, visited the University of Zenica, where they were hosted by the rector, Prof. Dr.Sc. Jusuf Durakovic.<\/p>\n

The meeting discussed the future of the University of Zenica, and what the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, as well as the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton can do to improve the quality of studies at the University of Zenica. In this regard, it is planned to invest significant funds in infrastructure through heating projects to improve energy efficiency, as well as public-private partnership projects, and the allocation of funds from capital investments.<\/p>\n

"The University of Zenica has great chances to become recognizable in Bosnia and Herzegovina. "He has such a capacity that he can respond to everything that the community in Zenica-Doboj Canton is asking from the University," said Prof. Ph.D. Spahija Kozli\u0107. When it comes to infrastructure investments, he pointed out that all the decisions on the start of the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Project have been signed, within the framework of which five buildings of the University of Zenica will be reconstructed: the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering by the end of this year, and next year the Rectorate building and the University Reading Room building. As part of the public-private partnership, talks have already begun with a potential private partner regarding the construction of a sports-recreational center in which an Olympic swimming pool would be built. The minister also announced the construction of the building of the Polytechnic Faculty through a project that can be nominated in the catalog of public-private partnership projects of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. "This year, the reconstruction of the large amphitheater at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, which will be especially needed by the students of the Faculty of Medicine, was completed," pointed out Prof. Dr.Sc. Spahija Kozli\u0107.<\/p>\n

Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Jusuf Durakovi\u0107, rector of the University of Zenica, said that a special emphasis in the Work Plan of the University of Zenica was placed on more intensive cooperation with the Founder and the Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. "Today I have the special honor of hosting my colleague Prof. Dr.Sc. Spahija Kozli\u0107, at the same time a minister in the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, so that more intensive cooperation is already starting to take place from today. Therefore, I expect that in cooperation with the Ministry we will surely do a lot to affirm the University of Zenica, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond. Also, I believe that the infrastructure projects will be realized very quickly," said Prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Durakovic.<\/p>\n

The Rector also said that "the highest priority is to build one building in which the Faculty of Polytechnics and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering would be located together, and there is an idea to move the Faculty of Philosophy to the existing building of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, thus rounding off the campus of the University of Zenica." In addition, the infrastructural construction of the Faculty of Medicine is very important due to the great interest of domestic and foreign students in the study programs of this faculty. The Rector also announced the proposal to adopt a new law on higher education in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, which will be a prerequisite for the development of our University and the removal of all dilemmas that burdened the University.<\/p>\n

Mr. Malik Ejubovi\u0107, as a representative of the Commission for Youth of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Assembly, said that the existence of the University of Zenica and its further development are important for young people who have the opportunity to get an education in their city and their country, but certainly from an economic point of view. attracting people from outside Bosnia and Herzegovina. "All of us must provide maximum support to the development of our university, because only in this way can we contribute to the development of our community as a whole," said Mr. Malik Ejubovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
