As part of the celebration of the University of Zenica Day, organized by the University of Zenica and BZK Preporod, the Symposium "100 years since the birth of academician Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107 - Endowment that binds" was held today in the premises of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology.<\/p>\n

The symposium was held in two parts. In the introductory part, the presenters spoke about the character and work of academician Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107, while in the second part of the Symposium the focus was on the work of the "Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107" Institute, its past, present and future perspectives.<\/p>\n

Rector of the University of Zenica Prof. Dr.Sc. In his opening address, Jusuf Durakovi\u0107 said: "This Symposium has three good reasons why it should be organized. The first reason is the memory of academician Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107. It is a big name, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also wider. Another reason is that Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107 is connected to the Institute, which is now in a very difficult situation. The city of Zenica is known for the Institute, and we must not question the scientific and research work at our Institute. The third motive for organizing this event is that this is an opportunity for people to socialize." The Rector also emphasized the following: "During my candidacy for the position of Rector, the first point was precisely the plan and development of the Institute. The Institute should be helped by both the social community and the entire University, the Founder and the citizens of Zenica."<\/p>\n

"Remembrance of great people aims to affirm their deeds, the values with which they enriched the environment in which they worked and lived. We should be especially grateful to those people. They leave behind indelible traces, leave great works, strengthen institutions, live for an idea and follow ideals. One of the great people to whom we owe a huge debt of gratitude is academician Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107," said Prof. Ph.D. in his opening address. Ajdin Huseinspahi\u0107, president of BZK Preporod.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the attendees were addressed by Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Spahija Kozli\u0107, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica-Doboj Canton.<\/p>\n

In the introductory part, the following spoke about the character and the work: Ph.D. Seid Kapetanovi\u0107, son of Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107, and Ph.D. Amir Ismi\u0107 and Ph.D. Milenko Rimac.<\/p>\n

After the introductory speeches, the scientific and professional part of the meeting followed, where the following spoke: Assoc. Ph.D. Mustafa Had\u017eali\u0107 on the topic "Priorities and new challenges of the Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107 Institute in Zenica", Prof. Ph.D. Faik Uzunovi\u0107 on the topic "International aspects of the work of academician Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107", Prof. Ph.D. Mirsada Oru\u010d on the topic "Development of materials and technologies at the Institute "Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107" of the University of Zenica and the rector of the University of Zenica, Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Jusuf Durakovi\u0107 on the topic "Institute Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107: yesterday, today and tomorrow".<\/p>\n

One of the conclusions from today's Symposium is that a working group composed of experts will be formed to analyze the current state and possible potential of the Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107 Institute, and give a concrete proposal on the direction in which the Institute's development should go.<\/p>\n
