Breast cancer is the most common cancer that occurs in women, and the month of October is dedicated to this disease, women, raising awareness, and educating the population about breast cancer. The rate and risk for the development and occurrence of this disease increases with age, and there are other factors that predispose to the occurrence of this disease, such as: genetic predisposition and lifestyle.<\/p>\n
Students of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica, as future doctors and health workers, feel a sense of responsibility in educating the population, promoting health and fighting against this disease, and accordingly realized a project called "Zeni\u010dka Days of Prevention - Pink October". The activity is symbolically called "Pink October", because of the pink color and ribbon, which are a symbol of the fight against breast cancer.<\/p>\n
In the period from 25.10. until 29.10.2021. In 2008, as part of the above-mentioned project, appropriate activities were carried out with the aim of educating the public, women, students, and all other social groups about breast cancer, the fight against this disease, diagnostic procedures, and factors that increase and decrease the risk of developing this disease. .<\/p>\n
From 25.10. until 27.10. In the shopping center in Zenica, from 12:00 to 16:00, an information desk was set up, and students from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica talked to citizens about this disease and the importance of early diagnosis.<\/p>\n
On October 28 and 29, from 5:30 p.m., special lectures for women and students were held in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology. The guest lecturers were: prim. Ph.D. Harun Drljevi\u0107 and prof. Ph.D. Ermina Iljazovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
The implementation of the project was supported by: "Institute for Health and Food Safety" Zenica, Citizens' Association "\u017divot" - Zenica, Polyclinic "Medicom", Polyclinic "Sunce", "Medis International", cosmetics group "Avon" and "DM" (Drogeria market ), and on this occasion we especially thank them for their support and cooperation.<\/p>\n
