The University of Zenica, as an important carrier of activities and social events both in the canton and in the country, is not only successful in organizing student competitions, but also successfully organizes world youth competitions. This year, the University of Zenica is also the organizer of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) competition for Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with EDUTUS University from Hungary.<\/p>\n
The World Robotics Olympiad has been held since 2004 with the aim of gathering young people from all over the world, and thanks to the University of Zenica, young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina also have the opportunity to show their knowledge and ideas. Through this competition, young people develop creativity, design and problem-solving skills through demanding educational competitions in building robots.<\/p>\n
The competition will be held on June 18, 2022 in the "Husejin Smajlovi\u0107" Arena in Zenica with the patronage of the City of Zenica and the ZEDA Agency through the Agora project, which is financed by the Danube Transnational Program and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica-Doboj canton. The event was also supported by BH Telecom, Devmatec, Ruff cycles SEE doo and GS-Tvornica ma\u0161ina Travnik.<\/p>\n
The participation of 18 teams has been announced, which are divided into three age groups (8-12, 12-15 and 15-20 years old), and the best teams will advance to the world competition, which will be held on 17-19. November 2022 in Dortmund (Germany). Going to the world competition will be realized with the patronage of the City of Zenica.<\/p>\n
Through the education of young people about robotics, WRO worked to awaken an interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), as well as to inspire the innovators of tomorrow. WRO is a global competition dedicated to science, technology and education with challenging and educational tasks in robotics.<\/p>\n
The competition is open to young people between the ages of 8 and 20. During the competition, teams build their robots from LEGO MINDSTORMS\u00ae elements, and other control devices, materials or programming languages are also allowed.<\/p>\n
Year after year, the most interesting activity is putting different real-world challenges before the teams who solve them. These challenges may relate to finding sustainable solutions to climate change, protecting biodiversity or finding innovative methods for precision farming and preventing food waste. The tasks can be connected with the everyday experiences of the team members so that their conceptual solutions represent the benefit of all humanity.<\/p>\n
WRO competitions are organized in more than 70 countries, and thanks to the University of Zenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina! The best teams of the national competitions receive an invitation to the final of the World Championship, which takes place every November in a different country.<\/p>\n
