Today, in the Amphitheater of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, and organized by the University of Zenica and the Embassy of Italy, the conference "Greening the Steel Industry" was held. The conference was held as part of the Italian Research Day in the World 2022 (GRIM 2022).<\/p>\n

The conference was opened with an appropriate address by Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Spahija Kozli\u0107, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Durakovi\u0107, rector of the University of Zenica and NJ. E. Marco Di Ruzza, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n

"This is the continuation of a good cooperation between the University of Zenica and the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All previous cooperation was reflected through research, exchange of teachers and students, through learning the Italian language at our University, and this is one concrete example where experts from the Republic of Italy want to transfer their experiences in steel production. Considering that our University is already well-known and considering that it was founded on the traces of steel production from the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, and considering that we have an ironworks in our city that deals with steel production, our goal is to somehow reach a situation where we produce steel with very low emissions into the atmosphere. What I want to emphasize is that the University of Zenica knows these processes, and in conversation with experts from Italy we will come up with a solution that we could present to the public and steel producers," said Prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Durakovi\u0107, rector of the University of Zenica.<\/p>\n

H.E. Marco Di Ruzza, the ambassador of the Republic of Italy, said: "Our goal is that in the host country, i.e. We present to Bosnia and Herzegovina the achievements that have been achieved in technological awareness. Our goal is not to organize an event of a theoretical kind, but to create the foundations for concrete cooperation that will take place between the "Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107" Institute of the University of Zenica, that is, the goal is to establish such relationships that will enable additional cooperation, market expansion, expansion in the economic sense, in a scientific sense and in terms of exchange. We deliberately chose Zenica because we wanted to look at this interesting topic together."<\/p>\n

The conference was also attended by a delegation from the Sector for Scientific and Technological Research from Trieste (Area Science Park), a national public institute founded in 1978, which is still one of the leading protagonists in the management of the Science and Technology Park in Trieste, with a number of innovative programs. to support the business world and technological platforms necessary for research activities. Representatives of Italian steel production groups, which together with Area Science Park as partners participate in the development of strategic research projects, also participated in today's conference.<\/p>\n
