On June 23, 2022. a session of the University of Zenica Stakeholder Forum was held at the University of Zenica. The stakeholder forum is a permanent body of the University composed of representatives of the business environment, line ministries, interest groups and non-governmental organizations, alumni and students. The stakeholder forum has an advisory role, which is reflected in the attempt to better connect the University of Zenica and the business world, i.e. the labor market, and to provide feedback to the management and employees of the University when it comes to important matters in the functioning of the University, such as the development of new study programs and faculties. , connecting with the labor market, strengthening ties with the alumni community...<\/p>\n
At the session, members of the Forum were introduced to the activities of the University in the areas of dual studies, short cycles and part-time studies within the framework of the European ERASMUS+ capacity building projects DUALSCI (Strengthening the capacity for the implementation of dual education in the higher education sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina) and PARTISH (Development of part-time studies) and short learning cycles in higher education of Bosnia and Herzegovina). Legal solutions related to the mentioned types of education were discussed, which were included in the proposal of the Law on Higher Education of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, which is currently in the adoption procedure. It was concluded that it is necessary to further define the implementation of these forms of education through the regulations and the Statute of the University, in order to harmonize the interests of all those involved in the process, from employers, through the University, to the most important category - students. The members of the Stakeholder Forum expressed their willingness to actively participate in finding and proposing the necessary solutions in the coming period.<\/p>\n
The session also discussed the initiative of the Employers' Association of Zenica and the UNZE Students' Union to adopt a law on student work\/student services that would define the minimum hourly wage, limit the number of hours per week for students, occupational safety and the payment of taxes and contributions. The stakeholder forum will be actively involved in the preparation of the conference on the subject of student work and practice, which is planned for October 2022 in the organization of the University of Zenica. The goal of this conference is to establish a proposal for a law on organizing student work and practice in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.<\/p>\n
