The University of Zenica informs the public that it has won an administrative dispute against the relevant ministry, this time regarding the voting rights of the vice-rector at the University of Zenica. The court has fully ACCEPTED the University's claim and ANNULLED the disputed decision of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Canton of Zenica, thus confirming the unfoundedness and illegality of the relevant body's actions.<\/p>\n
This verdict represents another in a series of final court decisions rendered in favor of the University in disputes against the Ministry, which clearly indicates a persistent and systematic attempt to undermine the legal position and autonomy of the University, as well as political influence on the University.<\/p>\n
The University calls on the relevant ministry to finally start respecting state laws, court decisions, and the fundamental principles of academic autonomy and academic self-government. At the same time, we express our gratitude to the independent judiciary, which, despite pressure, remains the guarantor of the rule of law and institutional justice.<\/p>\n
The University will continue to persistently protect its rights, the interests of its members, and academic freedom, in accordance with the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina and best European practice.<\/p>\n
