The guests of CIP and MF UNZE were the representative of GIZ, Mr. Karl Heinz Jach with EU expert Daniel Iulianu and the topic of conversation was the cooperation of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica with the business sector of the region. In particular, there was talk about the ways in which expert services of teaching staff are paid for, copyright protection, technological transfer and its organization, and the problems that exist in this sector. An expert from Romania pointed out that Romanian public universities had similar problems in the past and that with the entry into the EU these problems were completely solved and that today almost all universities have a TTO (Technology Transfer Office) as a separate unit inside or outside the university (as a separate legal subject) with a separate account. The guest from Romania pointed out that in his country, too, the treasury work system had almost completely cut off the cooperation between the faculty and the economy. He also emphasized that TTOs at universities today are well connected with the ministries of science as well as relevant EU organizations and RDI funding programs. It was emphasized that our neighbors - universities in Zagreb, Split, Belgrade, etc. approached the formation of special organizational units in the form of TTO and expressed the wish that universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina make a similar project effort.
