On Thursday, March 22, 2018, in the premises of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Zenica, and organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the University, a round table was held on the topic "Public-private partnership in practice". <\/strong><\/p>\n

The participants of this round table were the representatives of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Mr. Zlatko Jeli\u0107, Minister of the Ministry of Economy, Mr. Mensur Sinanovi\u0107, Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports with assistants, Mr. Fahrudin Brki\u0107, Minister of Spatial Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection, Mr. Osman Buza, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Economy as an expert for PPP, and representatives of the management of the University of Zenica, headed by Prof. Ph.D. Damir Kuki\u0107, deans, directors, representatives of organizational units and teachers.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Damir Kuki\u0107, rector of the University of Zenica, pointed out that this is a big deal for the University of Zenica, and if not the only chance for the University of Zenica to provide the financial resources needed for infrastructure reconstruction. Namely, a large number of buildings at the University of Zenica are in a very bad condition, so their reconstruction is necessary, and additional funds are also needed to complete the work on the building of the Faculty of Economics and Law. Currently, the University has 14 prepared projects, and their total value is about 29 million KM. The goal of today's Round Table is to get as much information and knowledge as possible, so that the University can prepare the necessary documentation and send it to the Government, and so that the University's projects can finally be included in the catalog of strategic projects compiled by the Government. The Rector also pointed out that there are already two offers from potential partners and one of them is an offer from an Italian company that is ready to invest approximately 3 million marks in the reconstruction of a part of the premises of the "Kemal Kapetanovi\u0107" Institute.<\/p>\n

Mr. Zlatko Jeli\u0107, minister of the Ministry of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, said that every society should use the knowledge and skills of the academic community. When it comes to the Law on Public-Private Partnership ZDK itself, the Government currently has no implemented projects. This year, a project was launched in cooperation with the Zenica Cantonal Hospital "Interventional Cardiology", and a working body has already been formed to work on the conceptual project.<\/p>\n

The minister also pointed out that the projects of the University of Zenica will also be included in the catalog of projects. Government of ZDK.<\/p>\n

After the opening speeches, Mr. Osman Buza, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Economy, presented the solutions contained in the Law on Public-Private Partnership to those present, which was followed by an interesting and useful discussion.
