In the last few days, various articles related to the accreditation of the University of Zenica appeared in the media, and on this occasion we spoke today with Prof. Dr.Sc. Malik \u010cabaravdi\u0107, vice-rector for international cooperation and quality assurance of the University of Zenica, who emphasized the following:<\/p>\n
One year ago, i.e. six months before the expiration of the accreditation, the University of Zenica submitted an application for accreditation with all supporting documentation to the relevant ministry, i.e. the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica - Doboj Canton, whereby the University of Zenica fulfilled all its obligations on time . After that, the Ministry sent our request to the Agency for the Development of Higher Education of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from which we unfortunately did not receive official feedback.<\/p>\n
It is especially necessary to note that the inscriptions that appeared in the media, which say that the diplomas of the University of Zenica will not be valid in the European Union from March 31, are not correct. This is disinformation. The University of Zenica remained in the register of accredited universities, and registration and deletion from the register is done only by the Agency for the Development of Higher Education of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Given that we have fulfilled all our obligations on time, it is not possible to be deleted from the register of accredited universities. Therefore, the diplomas of the University of Zenica are valid in the European Union as before. It is also necessary to point out that our university is not the only one in that position, that is, by the end of the year, the accreditations of almost all universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina will expire.<\/p>\n
What is particularly important to point out is the fact that the University of Zenica is the first accredited university in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n
We expect that the accreditation process will start soon, since threats have arrived from the European Union that all applications of all universities to Erasmus + programs will be stopped if the university accreditation process is not started. This would bring enormous damage to universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The University of Zenica has so far participated in more than 20 Erasmus + programs through which the quality system was developed, a lot of laboratories were equipped, study programs were developed, and through exchange projects in 2018 alone there were about 130 registered exchanges of students and teaching staff.<\/p>\n
