This implies two-semester teaching process with15 working weeks (w.w.) each, then 15 working weeks out of this period and 40-hour working time in working week. Consequently (15 w.w.+15 w.w. +15 w.w.) x 40 h/per week=1800 h/per year This basic foundation is also used to estimate ECTS credit accumulation, i.e. correlation 30h=1 ECTS credit leads us to reference according to which we have 1800/30=60 ECTS credits for one academic year that a student must accumulate. Therefore the minimal and necessary number of credits a student needs to accumulate for passing into next study year is 60 ECTS credits. According to that an academic calendar is formed which, with minor changes during the period of implementation (holidays etc.), represents the basis for annually planed activities at the University of Zenica. At the beginning of each academic year University of Zenica publishes current academic calendar based on the one previously used containing the following information: The beginning of an academic year Terms for teaching procedure in spring and autumn semester Terms for admission and registration of semesters as completed Terms for classification period and freshmen registration Information about public holidays and other non-working days The end of an academic year An academic year begins in October of the current year and ends in September of the next year. It is divided in two semesters: spring and autumn. Teaching procedure takes part within particular semesters that have approximately 15 teaching weeks each. There are regular and irregular examination periods at the University of Zenica. Autumn and spring examination periods are regular ones. Irregular examination periods are determined by University Senate.
