Registration and admission procedures

The University of Zenica is a public (state) institution which both BiH and foreign citizens who meet the necessary requirements can enrol at.

Undergraduate Programme (First-degree studies according to the concept 4+1+3 or 3+2+3)
First-year students are enroled at the faculties of the University of Zenica as:
  1. Full-time students supported by the competent Ministry of Education;
  2. Full-time self-financed students;
  3. Part-time self-financed or employer-financed students.
The Senate of the University of Zenica, at the proposal of Faculty Teaching Staff and with the founder’s consent, makes a decision on the enrolment quota for the first year and the tuition fees for each academic year. Based on this decision the University of Zenica invites applications for the first year enrolment at the faculties which define the elements of the admission procedure:
  • enrolment-application submission,
  • entrance examination schedule,
  • required documents to be attached to the application,
  • admission procedure costs, etc. .
The University of Zenica pays a great attention to the preparation of inviting applications for the first year enrolment through promoting the University in time and printing a special publication called A Freshmen Guide. In this way the secondary school graduates, the future university students, are informed about the University.

The following documents are to be submitted for enrolment at the University of Zenica:
  • original secondary school graduation certificate
  • original records for each school year
  • original birth certificate
  • certificate of citizenship
  • certificates for outstanding results achieved during secondary school education which are relevant for for the studies an applicant wants to enrol at
  • other documents defined by inviting applications, if any. .
Ranking applicants and implementing entrance examinations are defined by Faculty Teaching Staff. They have to be established and defined in the inviting application procedure. Potential students have to have those issues clearly defined prior to applying at the University of Zenica.

Postgraduate Programme (Second-degree studies according to the concept 4+1+3 ili 3+2+3)
Until 2009 the Postgraduate studies at the University of Zenica shall be organized as the postgraduate studies according to the two-year stuedy concept as it was organized before Bosnia and Herzegovina entered the Bologna Process. The candidates who meet the following requirements can enter the studies:
  • candidates who have completed the first-degree studies according to at least four-year programme,
  • candidates who achieved very good, excellent or outstanding results during the first-degree programme,
  • candidates proficient in at least one foreign language,
  • proven work references if the candidate has a business experience.
The detailed inforamation on the enrolment requirements, curricula and programmes can be obtained from the faculties which have this kind of the studies (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Science, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Economics).

Doctoral Programme (Third-degree studies according to the concept 4+1+3 or 3+2+3)
Until 2009 this degree of the studies shall be organized as mentorship for candidates and as completing a doctoral dissertation under conditions set forth in the University of Zenica Statute.
