14.02.2018. CIP AND EF UNZE: VISIT TO THE ECONOMIC FACULTY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SKODA

The first institution that the CIP UNZE and EF UNZE team visited in Albania was the Faculty of Economics of the Luigi Gurakuči University of Shkodër (UNSKH). At this more than 60-year-old academic institution, which has 3 departments (Business Administration, Finance-Accounting and Tourism), 29 full-time professors and 71 associate teachers who come from other departments of the university or the business sector are employed. The teaching process in the second cycle is implemented in 4 departments, and a PhD study is being prepared. The University of Shkodra is a public university accredited by the National Agency for Higher Education in Albania and the English Accreditation Agency. The dean of the faculty is Assoc. Dr. Blerta (Spahia) Dragush, and the vice-dean is Borana (Sinani) GjYLBEGAJ, who, along with the QA manager of UNSKH, hosted the UNZE delegation (Prof. , assistant professor Dženan Kulović and professor Rifet Đogić). The hosts emphasized the previous cooperation with UNZE, especially in the field of health sciences, and emphasized that they have 3 active projects in this round of Erasmus+ projects. EF UNSKH has an active project in the field of ICT with the Faculty of Organizational Sciences of the University of Belgrade. In discussions with the hosts, fields of potential cooperation were defined and MoU models were exchanged, which will soon be signed.

On the second day of their stay in Shkodër, the UNZE delegation was received by UNSKH Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Bektesi, who in a one-hour conversation at the UNSKH Rectorate underlined the further importance of cooperation between the two universities and especially the importance of opening up cooperation between economic faculties to strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
