Visit of the Delegation of the University of Zenica to the University of Split

On 11.11.2016. delegation of the University of Zenica, led by the rector, prof. Ph.D. sc. Dževad Zečić, she visited the University of Split. In addition to the Rector, the delegation consisted of: Prof. Dr.Sc. Hasan Mahmutović - vice-rector for finance UNZE, acting professor, Ph.D. Hasan Avdušinović – vice dean for NIR and vice-prof. Farzet Bikić from the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials, assistant professor, Ph.D. Fuad Hadžikadunić – dean and assistant professor, Ph.D. Amra Talić-Čikmiš – vice dean for Science and Technology from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, acting professor, Ph.D. Samir Lemeš – vice dean for NIR of the Polytechnic Faculty, Prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić – Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Acting Prof. Ph.D. Spahija Kozlić from the Faculty of Law, assistant professor, Ph.D. Alaudin Brkić – dean and associate professor, Ph.D. Dženan Kulović from the Faculty of Economics.

Before the official reception, the delegation attended a short welcome meeting at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy of the University of Split, which was arranged by the dean Prof. Dr.Sc. Boris Trogrlić.

At the official reception held at the Maritime Faculty, the University of Zenica delegation was received by the Rector of the University of Split, Prof. Dr.Sc. Šimun Anđelinović, and Prof. Ph.D. Boris Maleš – vice-rector for students, student standards and student sports, Prof. Ph.D. Branko Matulić - Vice Chancellor for Quality, Culture and Art, Prof. Ph.D. Alen Soldo – Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation and Prof. Ph.D. Rosanda Mulić – Vice-Rector for Teaching, and Dean of the Maritime Faculty Prof. Ph.D. Nikola Račić, Dean of FGAG, Prof. Ph.D. Boris Trogrlić, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Ph.D. Aleksandar Jakir, vice-dean of KTF, assoc. Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Marina Trgo, vice dean of the Faculty of Law, assistant professor, Ph.D. Matko Pajčić, and the vice dean for operations of FESB, prof. Ph.D.Sc. Vladan Papić.

This meeting was arranged as a return visit, after the visit of the delegation from the University of Split to our University in Zenica in September of this year.

After the introductory words of satisfaction of the representatives of both universities for this meeting and the opportunity to develop further cooperation, the representatives of the faculties of the University of Zenica briefly presented to the attendees: the Faculty of Metallurgy and Metals, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Polytechnics, as well as the Faculty of Economics, Philosophy and Law. Study programs, projects, laboratories, equipment, conferences, magazines, and other forms of faculty activities, as well as plans for further activities, were presented. Also, a number of proposals were presented on how cooperation with the University of Split, i.e. its faculties as members, could be achieved.

Mr. rector prof. Ph.D. sc. Šimun Anđelinović thanked the guests from Zenica for their visit, and the present representatives of the University of Split pointed out a certain number of ideas for concrete cooperation with the faculties of the University of Zenica through scientific research projects and conferences, among other forms of cooperation. It was pointed out that professors and students from Zenica could participate in the planned Summer School of the University of Split. Mr. rector prof. Ph.D. sc. Šimun Anđelinović emphasized that the University of Zenica is an advanced university that, like the University of Split, enhances the synergy of profession and science.

After the meeting, the dean Prof. Dr.Sc. Nikola Račić showed the Zenica delegation the premises of the Maritime Faculty, as well as the sophisticated equipment used in student training, especially the maritime and marine engineering simulator.

Also, the dean and vice-dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica made a short visit to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding (FESB) of the University of Split, i.e. a tour of the laboratories for: CAD/CAM, cutting, metallographic testing, mechanical testing, deformation processing and transport systems. The tour with relevant information was arranged by the vice dean Prof. Dr.Sc. Vladan Papić, Prof. Ph.D. Bozenko Bilić, and Assoc. Ph.D.Sc. Sonja Jozic. In a conversation with Mr. Dean Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Sven Gotovec recognized areas of concrete cooperation between the two faculties. During the tour of the laboratory, there was also a short meeting with the students Sejmen Haris and Karić Mustafa, who, as part of the GREEN-TECH ERASMUS MUNDUS student mobility project, spend the entire academic year at the University of Split's FESB.

As part of the two-day visit, a tour of certain architectural and cultural landmarks of the city of Split was carried out.

The delegation of the University of Zenica, headed by the rector prof. Ph.D. sc. Dževad Zečić is thanked by Mr. to the rector prof. Ph.D. sc. Šimun Anđelinović and his colleagues at an extremely pleasant reception with wonderful company and presented constructive ideas and plans for further joint cooperation.
