15.11.2016. CIP UNZE: NINE YEARS OF WORK

On Tuesday, November 15, 2016, the NINTH year of operation of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Zenica was marked. On this occasion, a ceremony was held in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of UNZE, during which the best student business ideas were presented, which students developed in the past months at UNZE, and then refined during the gathering, the so-called Start-up Weekend, held in October 2016 in Novi Sad as part of the Tempus project iDEALab. The ceremony was opened by the director of CIP of UNZE, prof. Ph.D. Darko Petković also presented the work of the Center in this, almost past year, 2016, and reflected on the entire previous nine-year period of work marked by activities on numerous projects.

Head of the Department for Business Development of CIP of UNZE and vice-rector for international cooperation and quality assurance prof. Ph.D. Malik Čabaravdić presented the Tempus project "Encouraging student entrepreneurship and access to innovations for university-industry cooperation (Fostering students' entrepreneurship and open innovation in university-industry collaboration)", and the leader and coach of one of the two UNZE teams, M.Sc. sc. Through an extremely interesting photo-story, Denis Spahić brought a touch of the atmosphere that reigned during our students' stay in Novi Sad. Then both teams (composed from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering: Senad Uzunović, Zlatan Cogo, Mehmed Čobo, Samed Šišman, Hamdo Huskić and Harun Hrustić and from the Faculty of Medicine: Haris Mahovkić, Adi Hadžić and Amar Ljevaković) presented business ideas, and emphasized that they continue to develop them with the aim of improvement and commercialization. At the end, the students who participated in the competition were given certificates, and the teaching staff, who helped the students during the preparatory activities, were given certificates of appreciation. It should also be noted here that the mentors of these two teams were: mr. sc. Denis Spahić (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and Mirza Oruč, MA (Faculty of Medicine). Textbooks for the libraries of UNZE's iDEAlabs, which were printed within the iDEAlab project, were also distributed on this occasion.
