12/13.02.2020. UNZE: START OF THE ERASMUS+ KA2 PROJECT: DUALSCI
At the beginning of February 2020, one of the very important projects for the higher education community in Bosnia and Herzegovina started: on February 12/13, 2020, the University of East Sarajevo hosted the first official meeting on the project DUALSCI - Strengthening capacities for implementation of dual education in Bosnia and Herzegovina higher education – Capacity building for the implementation of dual education in the higher education sector in BiH - project No. 610251-EPP-1-2019-RS-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP (structural project). This project was approved by EC Brussels last year, and after several years of talk and polemics about whether BIH should have a dual study model, the first official EU project on that topic in the higher education sector began. In the full two-day work, work packages and key activities were presented as well as expectations that will happen in the project in the next three years (2020-2022), which was followed by the project presentation of: universities from BiH (Zenica, Mostar, East Sarajevo and Sarajevo), project coordinator (University of Novi Sad), EU partner (University of Applied Sciences Graz – FH Graz, Duale Hochshule Baden-Wurttemberg Stuttgart, IMH Dual Engineering University School Bilbao), relevant ministries of education (Republic of Srpska, Zenica-Doboj Canton, West Herzegovina Canton and Sarajevo Canton), FBiH and RS Chambers of Commerce, WUS Austria Graz and BIT Alliance. After the presentation and discussion of each work package, the project activities that are key to the start of serious work by BH HEI on the development of pilot study programs based on the dual education model were analyzed in detail. It is important to emphasize that dual models imply a close connection between the business sector and the HEI in the realization of the teaching process based on completely new premises of teaching in business systems, which until now mostly do not exist in the academic sector in BIH, with the exception of health studies, which are designed by EU directives as a dual study model. The UNZE project team, which consisted of the head of the team Prof. Dr. Darko Petković, and members Prof. Dr. Fuad Hadžikadunić, Ph.D. Harun Hodžić and Mag.Mirza Oruč, presented some of the initial solutions of this approach at UNZE (study of general of health, a potential model for the study of Design and Technology in Wood Processing (DTD), and some other potential studies) for which there is a resource base of companies (SMEs and large systems) and other initial assumptions. The UNZE team is also the holder of WP 6 – Dissemination and use of project results, which is one of the most important work packages of the project, so it was an opportunity to present the model that the UNZE team and all consortium members will prefer during the project and after. In front of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, ZDK, the deputy ministers, Mr. Željko Bodul and Bernadeta Galijašević.
