UNZE: PRESENTATION OF THE DUALSCI PROJECT IN THE PREVENT VISOKO COMPANY

As part of the dissemination of activities on the project DUALSCI - Strengthening capacities for implementation of dual education in BH higher education - Strengthening capacities for the implementation of dual education in the sector of higher education in BH (Erasmus+ program), the head of the UNZE project team Prof. Dr. Darko Petković had a conversation and presentation project in the company Prevent INTERIOR in Visoko. With its more than 7,500 employees, the Prevent group is the largest employer in BiH and a partner that certainly deserves attention when it comes to dual education. In recent years, this company has become one of the most important BH furniture manufacturers, combining what they have been producing for years (leather, textiles) with new contemporary wooden forms. This is how the products of upholstered beds, chairs, etc. were created. and what is particularly interesting is the interior program for yachts with its own production line. It was this factory in the village of Goruša that was visited in addition to the visit to the factory in Topuzovo polje by the host at the Prevent Adriatic facility, Elvedin Tukulić, B.Sc. presented an interesting part of the factory - the department for making tools for pressing complex geometric shapes from wood. Ing. Tukulić presented a number of interesting tool solutions that were made both for Prevent and for other BH companies, as well as several of his own composite material solutions that were installed in yachts. In addition, the group has a wide range of products (from furniture for the IKEA concern, through the casting and upholstery sector to brake discs for the automotive sector) which requires a large number of executors with very diverse knowledge, predominantly educated through vocational education. In this sense, the director of Prevent Interior, M.Sc. Zlatan Uzunovića and Head of HRM Refija Gagula were presented with the project ideas of the UNZE team as well as the expectations of the BiH academic community from the Dualsci project. They discussed the modalities of cooperation in 2020, planned new products for 2020, interest in practice, preparation of diplomas and employment of a larger number of students from UNZE. They also discussed work on two new laboratories at the MF: IT Design Lab and FabLab. Prof. Petković especially presented the technology of 3D scanning and the importance it can have for the Prevent group. The focus of the conversation was on the model of dual (cooperative) education, which in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a great opportunity, especially for the woodworking sector, because the study of Design and Technology in Woodworking is conceived as a DUAL MODEL. Until the creation of legal regulations in BIH for this type of study, it will be implemented as a COOPERATIVE study model with numerous partners in the project. Of those partners, the Prevent company certainly deserves special attention. In addition to Prof. Petković, the students of the Polytechnic Faculty of UNZE Nejra Mehić and Ajla Smriko were also present at the meeting, who have already started their three-month professional work on the preparation of the final thesis at this faculty on topics of mutual interest.
