"Kemal Kapetanović" INSTITUTE IN ZENICA - 59TH YEAR

October 1, 2020, the day of remembrance of the time of society's prosperity and the creation of a scientific research institution that exists to this day and contributes to the community while retaining all its characteristics and adapting to the demands of the community and the market.

The "Kemal Kapetanović" Institute in Zenica, an organizational unit of the University of Zenica, a scientific research institution founded in 1961, serves business entities by providing services: solving technological problems, improving and developing new products and technologies, equipment calibration, technical-technological tests, various trainings ( welders, drivers of ADR vehicles), measurements, and implementation of projects aimed at preserving a healthy environment. The Institute has preserved and created personnel and material potential (accredited laboratories, micro-production facilities) which, applying knowledge and many years of experience, is ready to tackle the problems of modern society and propose solutions in accordance with world standards.

The Institute was recognized by the Assembly of the ZE-DO Canton as a significant potential, and with the adoption of the Law on Entrusting Public Powers in the Field of Environmental Protection in 2013, it defined the creation of an Environmental Monitoring Center in the Institute, which is in the stage of being equipped and accredited. In this way, environmental monitoring in the ZE-DO canton was made possible according to European standards and connected to the monitoring system at the level of Europe and the world.

The institute joins institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region in projects financed by the European Community, which enables the institution and researchers to communicate and exchange knowledge and experiences.

As one of the institutions necessary for carrying out scientific research work, which in a developed society represents the carrier of technological progress, it can be said that the Institute, with its 59th annual activity, is alarming the need to maintain and strengthen this activity as an inevitable path to the development of the social community.
