25.05.2021. CIP UNZE: VISIT TO KOTOR MARITIME FACULTY
As part of the development of new project activities on the program of cross-border cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, as well as cooperation in the development of dual studies in the region, the director of CIP UNZE Prof. Dr. Darko Petković visited the Maritime Faculty in Kotor (PFK). In the conversation with the dean of PFK, Prof. Dr. Špir Ivošević, they discussed teaching in the current situation of the virus pandemic, as well as the participation of PFK in the project of developing dual studies in Montenegro. The topic of dual studies was open 4-5 years ago as a potential regional project, which was then abandoned and each of the countries of the WBC region started to design their own studies. Prof. Petković presented UNZE's experiences from the DUALSCI project – Capacity building for the implementation of dual education in the higher education sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Erasmus+ program). What UNZE particularly emphasized in this sense is the development and importance of adequate legislation for any story about dual studies. In this sense, the ZDK is in the process of working on the Law for dual studies in higher education because it is of the opinion that such a serious field of study cannot be regulated by cosmetic changes to the Law on Higher Education of the ZDK or some by-laws. Prof. Petković also presented to his colleagues from PFK the works with the topic of dual study that have been done recently. The topic of discussion was the potential collaboration of students from the Design and Technology in Woodworking department on the re-design of yacht interiors, which represents an interesting entrepreneurial opportunity.
