Contest for the scholarship "Lejla Hairlahović-Hušić" 2023.

The War Childhood Museum (MRD) is announcing a competition for the "Lejla Hairlahović-Hušić" scholarship, which is awarded once a year to a candidate in memory of the MRD researcher who died too early. Inspired by Leila's belief that education is the foundation of society, we established the scholarship with the aim of supporting female and male researchers. The scholarship is awarded in cooperation with the "Lejla Hairlahović-Hušić" Foundation.

The value of the scholarship for 2023 is 3,000.00 KM and is awarded once.

You can apply for the competition doctoral students citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina or foreign citizens who conduct research in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and who conduct research in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, psychology, pedagogy, history, sociology, linguistics, literature, philosophy, history of art, law, political science and journalism.

The contract will specify the submission of evidence of the research carried out. It will not be necessary to justify the expenditure of the funds of the awarded scholarship.

The decision to award the scholarship is made by an expert jury appointed by the Museum of Wartime Childhood.

Send your application marked "Application for scholarship Lejla Hairlahović-Hušić" by February 20, 2023 to info@warchildhood.org. In addition to your own contact information, you must attach the following:

  • A short summary/proposal of the research project for which you would use the scholarship as an incentive (up to 3,000 characters);
  • Professional biography;
  • One academic recommendation.

The scholarship will be awarded by the end of March 2023, when the name of the winner will be announced.

For all inquiries you can contact us at info@warchildhood.org until February 15, 2023.

            As the first winner of the "Lejla Hairlahović-Hušić" scholarship, I also feel the responsibility of this role with gratitude. In addition to the monetary contribution, which is very significant for the researcher, I would like to point out that the Commission recognized the social and scientific importance of the doctoral dissertation and evaluated the research work as high quality. Therefore, the scholarship is an additional motivational factor.
