ROUND TABLE HELD ON "PROSPECTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION"

As part of the series of activities taking place this week to mark the anniversary of the University of Zenica, a round table was held yesterday in the Zenica hotel on the topic of "Perspectives of higher education" in which the rector and vice-rectors of the University of Zenica, rectors of public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives universities from Croatia and Serbia, a representative of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of BiH, and a representative of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH. Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Larisa Velić, Chairwoman of the Senate of the University of Zenica and Dean of the Faculty of Law, highlighted the key problems of higher education and announced topics for discussion, and at the end she summarized the conclusions of the Round Table.

One of the goals of holding this Round Table is to solve the problem of recognition of diplomas of universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina in neighboring countries, which arose this year due to changes in state laws of countries in the region. In addition to this topic, they discussed the autonomy of universities, academic rights and freedoms, the mutual cooperation of universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, as well as the role of the Ministry of Civil Affairs in the higher education system, and the declining trend in the number of students at all universities, which represents a major problem in recent years. several years. After the discussion on these and other important topics, conclusions were adopted which will be submitted to the Rector's Conference/Rector's Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina for consideration.
