Based on Article 70, paragraph (4) and Article 71, paragraph (4) of the Law on Higher Education ("Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton", No.: 12/22 and 5/25), Article 21.b) paragraph (6) indent 4 of the Law on the Public Institution University of Zenica - Consolidated text - ("Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton", No.: 1/18, 10/18 and 13/21), Article 113, paragraph (1) items a) and e) in connection with Article 122 and Article 123 of the Statute of the University of Zenica, Article 31 of the Decision on Amendments and Supplements to the Statute of the University of Zenica, Decision No.: 01-0211801/25. dated 30. 04. 2025. and the decision of the Scientific and Educational Council of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica, number: 04-200-001-121/25 dated 13.04. 2025., the Scientific and Educational Council of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica, announces

 

COMPETITION

for the election of the Dean/ES of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica

 

I

A candidate who meets the following general requirements may be elected as the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica:

a) is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
b) that he/she has not been convicted by a final judgment of a criminal offense with the legal consequence of a ban on holding office

In addition to the general requirements, the candidate must meet the following specific requirements:

a) that the teacher holds the scientific and teaching title of full or associate professor or assistant professor;
b) to actively know at least one world language;
c) that he does not have a position in the executive bodies of a political party or an organization connected to a political party;
d) that he is in full-time employment with the University of Zenica.

The dean is elected for a mandate period of 4 (four) years.

 

II

A candidate who has the ability to manage the Faculty, as proven by submitting the Faculty Work and Development Program for the term of office, may be elected as Dean.

 

III

Along with the Application for the Competition, the candidate is obliged to submit the original or certified photocopy of evidence of meeting the general and special requirements, as follows:

1. A short biography with an overview of published scientific research and other works, address, contact phone number and e-mail address,

2. Certificate of citizenship, in accordance with point a) of the general conditions;
3. Decision on the final election to the scientific and teaching title of full or associate professor or assistant professor, in accordance with point a) of the special conditions;

4. Certificate of active knowledge of at least one world language, in accordance with point b) of the special conditions;

5. A statement that he does not hold a position in the executive bodies of a political party or an organization affiliated with a political party, certified by a competent authority or a notary, in accordance with point c) of the special conditions;

6. Certificate of full-time employment at the University of Zenica, in accordance with point d) of the special conditions;

7. Faculty work and development program for the mandate period (to be submitted in printed and electronic versions (on CD or USB), in accordance with Article II;

 

The documents listed in the previous paragraph must be originals or certified copies no older than 3 (three) months from the date of publication of the Competition, and the Work and Development Program must also be in electronic version (on CD or USB):

If the PhD degree was obtained abroad, the candidate must submit a decision on its validation.

The candidate is required to sign the application for the Competition, a short biography with a review of published scientific research and other works, address, contact telephone number, e-mail address and the Faculty's Work and Development Program for the mandate period.

 

IV

Candidates who meet the requirements of the Competition will present their work and development program at the election session of the Scientific and Teaching Council of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica.

 

V

Applications with all necessary evidence must be submitted within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of the Contest in a daily newspaper.

The candidate who is elected by the Decision of the Scientific and Educational Council of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica is obliged, within 7 (seven) days from the date of the session of the Scientific and Educational Council of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica, to submit to the Competition Commission for the selection of the Dean a certificate/certificate issued by the competent authority in accordance with point b) of the general conditions. The candidates shall submit the aforementioned certificates/certificates, no older than 3 (three) months from the date of issue by the competent authority, in the original or a certified copy.

 

VI

Information on the scope of work of the dean of the Faculty is available on the website of the University of Zenica www.unze.ba (Statute).

Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.

Applications for the Competition with the necessary attachments are submitted in a sealed envelope by registered mail or to the protocol of the Rectorate of the University of Zenica, to the address:
