Held a public lecture on "Software engineering as an economic branch of ZDK and Bosnia and Herzegovina" at the Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Zenica

On 16.01.2017. In 2008, a lecture was held at the Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Zenica on the topic "Software engineering as an economic branch of ZDK and Bosnia and Herzegovina".

The lecture was held primarily with the aim of presenting the public and authorities with the possibility of opening a Software Engineering department at the Polytechnic Faculty. We remind you that the Senate of the University of Zenica, at its session held on December 27, 2017. In 2008, adopted the elaborations on the launch of the study program of the I (first) cycle and II (second) cycle of Software Engineering studies, which are currently in the procedure of adoption by competent authorities and institutions.

Also, on this occasion, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Zenica and Bit Alliance was signed. In the spirit of the best joint cooperation and good will to cooperate with each other in the areas of their activities that are in mutual interest and in the interest of strengthening and developing the information society in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Memorandum was signed by prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić, rector of the University of Zenica and Armin Talić, director of Bit Alliance.

Bit Alliance is an association of 27 largest software companies with more than 1,800 employees united under the umbrella of Bit Alliance, the largest umbrella organization of the software industry, and cooperation with the University will represent significant support for the development of science and information technologies, both at the University of Zenica and in Zenica-Doboj canton.

After the signing of the Memorandum and the conference for media representatives, a lecture was held in the amphitheater of the Polytechnic Faculty. Prof. Ph.D. greeted the attendees with his opening address. Sabahudin Jašarević, dean of the Polytechnic Faculty, after which prof. Ph.D. Samir Lemeš, vice dean for scientific and research work of the Polytechnic Faculty, presented the very idea and concept of the study at the Department of Software Engineering.

Director Armin Talić addressed the audience on behalf of Bit Alliance on the topic of "Software engineering as a strategic branch of the future economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina".

Prof. Dr Edhem Čustović from La Trobe University Melbourne and chairman of the Industry Advisory & Engagement board of the international IEEE organization spoke on the topic "Engineering, information and communication technologies (ICT), innovation and entrepreneurship, as the essential foundation of economic growth".
