The first Erasmus+ project of the Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Zenica

The European Commission has announced the results of the call for Erasmus+ projects in the field of strengthening the capacity of higher education in 2018. Out of 874 submitted projects, 147 were selected, including the project "Healthy Urban Environment: Developing Higher Education in Architecture and Construction in Bosnia and Herzegovina". The project coordinator and leader is the University of La Sapienza from Rome (Italy), and the partners are the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy from Sofia (Bulgaria), the University of Zagreb (Croatia), the University "Džemal Bijedić" Mostar, the University of Sarajevo and the University of Zenica. and several institutions: the Center for Information in Higher Education CIP BiH, the Federal Ministry of Education and Science and the Mediterranean University Union (Italy).
The main goal of the project is the establishment of laboratories and the introduction of new subjects in the study programs of partner universities, to raise the quality of life and create a healthier living environment in the urban areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project will last 3 years (2019-2012), the entire project budget of 633,000 euros is financed by EU funds, of which about 130,000 euros are planned for the University of Zenica.

La Sapienza University is one of the oldest Italian and European universities, with over 700 years of tradition, 111,000 students and 4,000 professors. It produced as many as 6 Nobel laureates, and it is interesting that in addition to 11 faculties and 2 university hospitals, the university has 20 museums and 59 libraries.
