FRENCH CORNER OPENED AT THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY

Today, the opening ceremony of the French Corner was held at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica. The opening was attended by Prof. Dr. Jusuf Duraković, H.E. Mr. François Delmas, Ambassador of the Republic of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Alica Arnaut, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, guests from the University of Poitiers, vice-rectors of the University of Zenica, employees and guests.

"This corner is not just a physical space, it represents a bridge between our academic community and one of the oldest and richest cultures in Europe. French culture, art, philosophy, science and technology have profoundly influenced the shaping of the world as we know it today. By opening this corner, we are also opening the door to new ideas, knowledge, opportunities for international cooperation and, most importantly, intercultural understanding. The University of Zenica has always strived to be open to all diversity, so the French Corner will be an inspiration for many. We look forward to future cooperation with the Embassy of France in Sarajevo, for mutual benefit," said Prof. Jusuf Duraković. The Rector especially thanked Professor Sanja Bošković from the University of Poitiers, who was the link between the two universities, the University of Poitiers and the University of Zenica.

Prof. Dr. Alica Arnaut, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, emphasized that the French Corner will be a space in which the French language, culture and tradition will be promoted, and last week a free French language course for students and teachers of the University of Zenica began, for which about 70 participants applied. The French Corner will be moved to a larger space after the appropriate premises are adapted.

"This event represents an important step in strengthening cultural, linguistic and academic ties between France and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I can say Francophonie and BiH. Especially in the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The opening of the French Corner is proof of the desire to engage in international dynamics and promote language learning, and a key lever for the future." - said Ambassador François Delmas. He thanked the management of the University of Zenica, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Jusuf Duraković, for their support in the implementation of this project, and expressed his satisfaction with the participation of the Embassy of France and the French Institute in Sarajevo.
