A MEETING WAS HELD WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ZENICA EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATION AND THE UNION OF STUDENTS OF UNZE

Today, a meeting was held in the Rector's Office, which was attended by Prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Duraković, rector of the University of Zenica, representatives of the Association of Employers Senaida Turkić, director and Adela Mehinagić, and representatives of the University of Zenica Students' Union Larisa Gadžun, president and her deputy Faris Preljević.

The meeting was initiated with the aim of launching an initiative to establish a student service and draft the necessary legal acts, such as a draft law on the student service, and other implementing acts, all for the purpose of more efficient inclusion of students in the labor market. It was emphasized at the meeting that the amendments to the Labor Law of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have enabled the engagement of students, however, the administrative procedure in reality is very complex, especially if the goal is to engage students for a shorter period of fifteen days. Representatives of the economy and representatives of the Student Union share the common opinion that students would find jobs faster and easier through the student service, and it would also be easier for employers to find suitable employees from an established database.

One of the conclusions from this meeting is that, with the support of the University of Zenica, a roundtable will be organized at which the advantages of enacting the law on student services will be openly discussed, some of the proposals will be adopted, but also what needs to be changed in curricula and programs so that students with a high level of theoretical knowledge that they can immediately apply in practice can enter the labor market.
