A scientific conference was held on the topic "The role of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Legal and political reflections"

Yesterday, a scientific conference was held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica on the topic "Role of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Legal and Political Reflections". The organizers of this conference, in addition to the host of the Faculty of Law in Zenica, were also the Faculty of Law of the University of Tuzla, the Faculty of Law of the University of "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar, the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo and the Faculty of Criminology, Criminology and Security Studies of the University of Sarajevo.

Prof. dr. Larisa Velić, Dean of the Faculty of Law in Zenica, expressed her satisfaction that there were the most eminent persons in Zenica who can speak about topics that are very important for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. "We believe that the academic community has a responsibility towards the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that it cannot be silent on everything that is happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina today, everything that is related to the decisions of the high representative. We believe that we will reach high-quality conclusions that we can offer to our politicians, the high representative and the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who need and want to fight for the welfare of this country," said the dean.

Those present were addressed by Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Jusuf Duraković, rector of the University of Zenica, thanked the participants for accepting the invitation to participate in the conference, which is extremely important for the public presentation of the problems that burden our Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The conference was divided into three parts. In the introductory part, in the general review of the decisions and position of the High Representative in BiH, Prof. Dr.Sc. Larisa Velić, Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica and Prof. Ph.D. Sead Turčalo presented their views. General overview of Prof. dr. Seada Turčala spoke on the topic "OHR in Bosnia and Herzegovina: The Phenomenon of Divided Sovereignty". In the opening address, Prof. Dr.Sc. Lada Sadiković, who spoke about the unused possibilities of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Prof. dr. sc. Senadin Lavić, who presented his position on ethnic engineering over legal and political processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the first part of the panel, the topic was the law on denial of genocide, and in the presentation and discussion about this imposed decision of the High Representative, Prof. Dr.Sc. Enis Omerović and Prof. Ph.D. Ajdin Huseinspahić.

In the continuation of the conference, there was talk about state property, an issue that has been a stumbling block in BiH for more than a decade, as well as the possibilities of the High Representative and announcements to resolve this issue. Participating in this part of the conference were Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Larisa Velić, Prof. Ph.D. Albin Music, Prof. Ph.D. Nurko Pobrić, Ph.D. Ismet Velić and Muharem Cero.

In the last segment of this conference, there was talk about the Electoral Law, the imposed decisions of the High Representative and the possibilities of regulating this issue. This was discussed by prof. Ph.D.Sc. Kasim Trnka, Prof. Ph.D. Zlatan Begić, Prof. Ph.D. Dženeta Omerdić and assistant professor, Ph.D. Sedad Dedić.
