An Agreement on Cooperation between the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica and the Roma Alliance in the Republic of Croatia "Kali Sara" was signed at the Rectorate of the University of Zenica

A ceremonial reception was held at the Rectorate of the University of Zenica on the occasion of the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica and the Roma Alliance in the Republic of Croatia "Kali Sara". Representatives of the Alliance were hosted by the Rector of the University of Zenica, Prof. Dr. Sc. Jusuf Duraković.

The meeting was also attended by Veljko Kajtazi, a member of the Croatian Parliament and a long-time advocate of the rights of the Roma community, which further emphasized the importance and solemnity of this event.

On behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Sc. Enis Omerović, the Agreement was signed by Dr. Sc. Aida Mulalić, Vice-Dean for Teaching and Student Affairs. On behalf of the Roma Alliance in the Republic of Croatia "Kali Sara", the Agreement was signed by President Suzana Krčmar.

Before the ceremonial signing of the Agreement, a lecture was held at the Faculty of Law for students on the topic of the position, rights and culture of the Roma community. The lecture was led by parliamentarian Veljko Kajtazi, who introduced the students to the historical development of the legal position of the Roma, challenges and good practices in the regional context.

Of particular importance is the research into Roma customary law, an area that is understudied in academia, but extremely important for understanding the traditional norms, culture and internal legal mechanisms of the Roma community. This cooperation opens up opportunities for joint scientific research projects, academic analyses and the development of educational content in this area.

The agreement also envisages cooperation in the organization of conferences, workshops, research and educational programs, exchange of publications and promotion of culture, history and human rights of minority communities.

Rector Duraković thanked the representatives of the "Kali Sara" Alliance for their visit and initiative, emphasizing that the University of Zenica remains committed to improving scientific research and strengthening social responsibility through collaborations that promote inclusiveness and understanding between communities.
