Announcement of the conference "Greening the steel industry" - continuation of cooperation between the University of Zenica and the Embassy of Italy

The University of Zenica continues its long-standing successful cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and on the occasion of the Italian Research Day in the World 2022 (GRIM 2022), a conference entitled "Greening the Steel Industry" will be held. The conference will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. in the premises of the Amphitheater of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, University of Zenica, starting at 2:30 p.m. It is important to point out that H.E. will actively participate in the conference. Marco Di Ruzza, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Duraković, rector of the University of Zenica.

The topic of this conference will be research in the steel production sector with a special focus on the most efficient methods of steel production with less impact on the environment (so-called green steel).

We are particularly pleased to host a delegation from the Sector for Scientific and Technological Research from Trieste (Area Science Park), a national public institute founded way back in 1978, which is still one of the leading protagonists in the management of the Science and Technology Park in Trieste, with a number of innovative programs to support the business world and technological platforms necessary for research activities. In addition, the conference will be attended by representatives of Italian groups for the production of steel, which, together with Area Science Park, participate as partners in the development of strategic research projects.

The conference represents a truly valuable opportunity for the meeting of the scientific community of the two countries, as well as for the exchange of experiences with local representatives of the economy interested in this topic, i.e. deepening the cooperation between the academic community and the real sector, which is one of the main goals stated in the work program of the rector, Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Jusuf Duraković. Also, this conference is important for the future activities of the "Kemal Kapetanović" Institute of the University of Zenica, which is the bearer of the organizational activities of this conference on behalf of the University of Zenica.
