THE CONFERENCE "CURRENT NEWS IN LEGAL THEORY AND PRACTICE: STATE PROPERTY AND THE CONSTITUTIONAL LEGAL ORDER IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA" WAS HELD AT THE FACULTY OF LAW OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENIKA.

The Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, in cooperation with the Faculty of Criminology, Criminology and Security Studies of the University of Sarajevo, organized a scientific and professional conference entitled "Current legal theory and practice: state property and the constitutional legal order in Bosnia and Herzegovina", which was held today in on the premises of the Faculty of Law in Zenica.

The conference provided an opportunity for discussion on various topics important for the legal system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, as well as at the international level. This year, the work within the conference particularly emphasized current issues in the field of constitutional and real law, as well as initiatives for amendments to domestic legislation in various legal fields.

In his address to those present, the dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Ph.D. Larisa Velić pointed out: "Universities have always had a special role in society. They are places of preservation of tradition and, at the same time, places of innovation and research that provide guidance to a society that wants to hear what the academic community has to say. Professors and researchers should be the engine that drives the economy and society and directs policies, and we strive to be exactly that. Today, you are invited to discuss what mistakes we made in the past and what we should do if we want to fix it and create a legal state where equal citizens live. In order to achieve this, we must first of all work to prevent the collapse of its foundations. Today, the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is faced with special challenges related to ensuring its territorial integrity and sovereignty, and is under attack from various nationalist and separatist ideologies that are already largely realized through the disruption of state institutions, non-compliance with the decisions of the Constitutional Court, and the assumption of state authority by lower levels. authorities, violations of property rights, etc."

Presentations and discussions at today's conference emphasized the responsibility of the academic community to be a space for discussion on key socio-political topics. The problem of state property and the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina stood out as particularly significant. We hope that the conclusions of the conference will be quickly implemented, strengthening the position of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the way to EU and NATO integration.
