FOR THE ENROLLMENT OF STUDENTS IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE III (THIRD) CYCLE OF STUDIES,
DOCTORAL STUDY IN MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES AT
TO THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025. YEARS
(PHD studies) 

 

Contest/Competition for the enrollment of students in the first year of the III (third) cycle of studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica (Doctoral studies) in the academic year 2024/2025. year lasts 30 days from the day of publication in the daily newspaper and on the website of the Faculty)

Enrollment of students who will be admitted to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica will take place within the deadline determined by the Academic and Teaching Council of the Faculty. 

In the first year in the academic year 2024/2025. year, candidates are enrolled in accordance with the Student Enrollment Plan in the first year of the III (third) cycle of studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zenica.

The study of the III (third) cycle DOCTORAL STUDY IN MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica is organized for three years (6 semesters) according to the Bologna system.

 

The right to participate in the Contest/Competition for the study of the III (third) cycle of study, DOCTORAL STUDY IN MEDICAL SCIENCES AT THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE has:

- citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, foreign citizens and stateless persons with a completed II (second) cycle of studies or the equivalent (academic master's degree) in the appropriate scientific field (master's degree in medical sciences or master's degree in biomedical sciences) with 360 ECTS credits, candidates who have completed integrated study of general medicine with the title of doctor of medicine with 360 ECTS points, i.e. completed study of medicine according to the pre-Bologna system of education with the title of doctor of medicine.

- candidates who completed the previous level of education abroad, with a previously completed procedure for the certification of the acquired diploma, i.e. the procedure for the recognition of the education acquired abroad, in accordance with the law.

 

The right to participate in the Contest/Competition for the study of the III (third) cycle of study, DOCTORAL STUDY IN HEALTH SCIENCES AT THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE has:

- citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, foreign citizens and stateless persons with a completed II (second) cycle of studies or equivalent (academic master's degree) in the relevant scientific field of Health Sciences (master's in the field of health) with 300 ECTS credits.

- candidates who completed the previous level of education abroad, with a previously completed procedure for the certification of the acquired diploma, i.e. the procedure for the recognition of the education acquired abroad, in accordance with the law.

 

The admission and enrollment of students in the first year of studies is carried out by a special commission appointed by the Council of Studies. 

 

Enrollment conditions:

Candidates who have completed the II (second) cycle of studies or the equivalent (academic master's degree) in the appropriate scientific field have the right to enroll in doctoral studies.

A candidate for enrollment must be able to use scientific and professional literature in one of the world's languages, which he proves before enrollment by certifying that he attended a foreign language course or listened to a foreign language during the I (first) and/or II (second) study cycle.

Enrollment candidates, who obtained the title of Master of Medical/Biomedical Sciences, before the introduction of the Bologna system of three-cycle studies in the fields relevant to the field from which the doctoral study is organized, can be recognized with the appropriate number of ECTS points in accordance with the study program. Exceptionally, candidates can be granted 60 (sixty) ECTS points and the right to enroll in the second year of doctoral studies only in the case of the same scientific field of the master's degree and the scientific field of the doctoral study. The Master of Medical/Biomedical Sciences is awarded 60 ECTS based on the decision of the Doctoral Study Council and on the basis of a previously submitted application.

Foreign citizens apply for the competition under the conditions stipulated in the Statute of the University of Zenica, the Rules for organizing undergraduate, master's and doctoral studies at the University of Zenica and other regulations valid in the field of higher education.

Exceptionally, candidates who completed their studies outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina have the right to participate in the Competition even before the nostrification/equivalence of the diploma of completed studies abroad, but they can enroll in the first year after the nostrification/equivalence of completed education abroad.

In case of application of a large number of candidates, priority is given to candidates with a higher average grade achieved during the I (first) study cycle.

The Faculty reserves the right to organize a knowledge test (entrance exam) for registered candidates, as necessary, which will be decided by the Council of Studies. 

The final approval of the Candidate Selection Ranking List and consideration of appeals on that basis is carried out by the Scientific and Teaching Council of the Faculty.

The final ranking list and the list of accepted candidates will be published by the faculty on the notice board and the faculty's website after they have been verified by the competent authority after the closing of the Competition/Competition.

The Faculty will provide complete information on the place and time of submission of documents for the Contest/Competition on its notice board and the Faculty's website.

Candidates must submit the following documents (originals or certified copies) when applying for the Contest/Competition for enrollment in the first year of the III (third) study cycle (doctoral studies):

• biography,
• a diploma and a supplement to the diploma of the II cycle of study (for students who completed their studies according to the Bologna study system), i.e. a diploma and a certificate of passing the master's study exams (for students who completed their studies according to the pre-Bologna study system),
• a diploma and a certificate of passing the exams of the integrated study of general medicine (for students who have completed their studies according to the Bologna system of studies), i.e. a diploma and a certificate of passing the exams of a completed study of general medicine according to the pre-Bologna system of education with the title of doctor of medicine (only for candidates for doctoral studies in medical sciences)
• the decision on the nostrification of the diploma (II cycle study) for candidates who obtained previous education outside Bosnia and Herzegovina,
• certificate or certificate of knowledge of a foreign language,
• birth certificate,
• Certificate of Citizenship,
• statement of acceptance of the obligation to pay the costs of the third cycle of study (doctoral study).

 

Depending on the number of registered candidates, the Scientific and Teaching Council of the Faculty will make a Decision on starting the study program. 

Detailed information on enrollment and study conditions (Curriculum and program, amount of tuition fees, other study costs, Decisions of the Senate of the University of Zenica on the amount of tuition fees and other fees paid by students, citizens of BiH and foreign citizens, at the III cycle of studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zenica in the academic year 2024/2025 as well as other related documents and information) can be obtained from the relevant departments of the Faculty of Medicine in Zenica.
