Competition for the selection of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica

Pursuant to Article 70, paragraph (4) and Article 71, paragraph (4) of the Law on Higher Education ("Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton", No.: 12/22 and 5/25), Article 21.b) paragraph (6) indent 4 of the Law on the Public Institution University of Zenica - Consolidated text - ("Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton", No.: 1/18, 10/18 and 13/21), Article 113, paragraph (1) items a) and e) and in connection with Article 122 and Article 123 of the Statute of the University of Zenica and the Decision of the Scientific and Educational Council of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, No.: 08-200-020-229/25 of 23.04.2025, the Scientific and Educational Council of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, hereby announces
COMPETITION
for the election of the dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica
I
A candidate who meets the following may be elected as Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica: general conditions:
a) that he is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
b) that he has not been legally convicted of a criminal offense with the legal consequence of a ban on holding office
In addition to the general requirements, the candidate should meet the following special conditions:
a) that the teacher holds the scientific-teaching title of full or part-time professor or assistant professor;
b) to actively know at least one world language;
c) that he does not have a position in the executive bodies of a political party or an organization connected to a political party;
d) that he is in full-time employment with the University of Zenica.
The dean is elected for a mandate period of 4 (four) years.

A candidate who has the ability to manage the Faculty can be elected dean, as evidenced by the submission of the Faculty's Work and Development Program for the term of office.

Along with the Application for the Competition, the candidate is obliged to attach in the original or a certified photocopy evidence of fulfillment of general and special conditions, namely:
1. A short biography with a review of published scientific research and other works, address, contact telephone number, e-mail address;
2. Certificate of citizenship, in accordance with point a) of the general conditions;
3. Decision on the final election to the scientific and teaching title of full or associate professor or assistant professor, in accordance with point a) of the special conditions;
4. Certificate of active knowledge of at least one world language, in accordance with point b) of the special conditions;
5. A statement that he/she does not hold a position in the executive bodies of a political party or an organization affiliated with a political party, certified by a competent authority or notary, in accordance with point c) of the special conditions;
6. Certificate of full-time employment at the University of Zenica, in accordance with point d) of the special conditions;
7. Faculty work and development program for the mandate period (to be submitted in printed and electronic versions (on CD or USB), in accordance with Article II;
The documents listed in the previous paragraph must be originals or certified copies no older than 3 (three) months from the date of publication of the Competition, and the Work and Development Program must also be in electronic version (on CD or USB):
If the diploma for the scientific degree of Doctor of Science was obtained abroad, the candidate must submit a decision on its nostrification.
The candidate is obliged to sign the competition application, a short biography with an overview of published scientific research and other works, address, contact phone number, e-mail address and the Faculty's Work and Development Program for the term of office.

Candidates who meet the requirements of the Competition will present their work and development program at the election session of the Scientific and Teaching Council of the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica.

Applications with all necessary evidence must be submitted within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of the Contest in a daily newspaper.
The candidate who is elected by the Decision of the Scientific and Educational Council of the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica is obliged, within 7 (seven) days from the date of the session of the Scientific and Educational Council of the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica, to submit to the competition commission for the selection of the dean a certificate/certificate issued by the competent authority in accordance with point b) of the general conditions. The candidates shall submit the aforementioned certificates/certificates, no older than 3 (three) months from the date of issue by the competent authorities, in the original or a certified copy.

Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.
The application for the Competition with the required attachments must be submitted in a sealed envelope via registered mail.
