Erasmus+ Info Day held at the University of Zenica

Organized by the Office for International Cooperation of the University of Zenica, on October 24, 2025, at the University of Zenica, Erasmus+ Info Day, an event dedicated to presenting the opportunities that the Erasmus+ program offers to students and employees of the University of Zenica.

The goal of this event was to inform and motivate students to apply for current and future competitions for international mobility, and to take advantage of the opportunity to gain invaluable academic and life experience abroad.

In the opening address, they addressed the attendees Amra Muslic Halilovic, Coordinator of the Office for International Cooperation, and Prof. Dr. Hasan Avdušinović, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Quality Assurance, who emphasized the importance of the Erasmus+ program for strengthening the international recognition of the University of Zenica and developing student competences.

A special part of the program was dedicated to the experiences of former and current Erasmus+ students, who shared with the attendees their impressions and advice about their stay at partner universities across Europe.

They presented their experiences:

  • Mateo Susic, a software engineering student, who spent two semesters at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy),
  • Emina Šaćirbegović and Nađa Šišić, students of the Faculty of Economics, who spent a semester at the University of Jaen (Spain),
  • Ismet Dilaver, a former student of the University of Zenica, who continues to benefit from the Erasmus+ program through professional development abroad,
  • Elma Hedžić, former student of the University of Zenica, at the same time the first Erasmus+ student of our university, today employed at Office for International Cooperation,
  • Zoe Anning, student Hanseatic University of Applied Sciences from the Netherlands, who is currently doing her internship at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zenica, in the winter semester of the academic year 2025/26.

Through their inspiring stories, former and current students emphasized the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone, getting to know new cultures, and gaining academic knowledge in an international environment, and encouraged their colleagues to apply for the next Erasmus+ mobility competitions.

The info day was attended by: guests from the partner University of Poitiers (France), which further confirmed the successful cooperation of the University of Zenica with international higher education institutions within the Erasmus+ program.
