Held scientific-professional conference "Science and Modernity" of the Faculty of Philosophy

Today, the 10th international scientific and professional meeting entitled "Science and Modernity" was held in the Zenica Hotel, organized by the Faculty of Philosophy. The holding of all programs as part of the "Days of the Faculty of Philosophy" manifestation, as well as the holding of today's meeting, was made possible entirely by the funds that the Federal Ministry of Education and Science transferred to the University of Zenica from the transfer for the field of science of importance to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the introductory part, the attendees were addressed by: Prof. Dr.Sc. Alica Arnaut, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Duraković, Rector of the University of Zenica, Mr. Mirza Mušija, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and Ph.D. Seid Masnica, advisor for higher education, science and technology in the Federal Ministry of Education and Science.

The students of the first grades of "Meša Selimović" Elementary School prepared and performed a short performance about the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a musical number dedicated to Zenica. This performance by the students is the result of excellent cooperation between the Faculty of Philosophy and primary and secondary schools in the Zenica-Doboj Canton through a significant number of activities.

According to the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Ph.D. Alice Arnaut participants of the meeting come from different universities from Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia and of course from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"We, as the guardians of the humanities at the University of Zenica, together with the social sciences, are trying to restore the status of the humanities and social sciences, which unfairly placed them somewhere at the bottom of the scientific scale, considering that other scientific fields are more important, referential and essential for society, but in fact it is vice versa. The humanities, language, culture, history, philosophy, and then the IT sector in the education segment are what provide the platform for the development of all other sciences," said Prof. Dr.Sc. Alica Arnaut.
