IN MEMORIAM: prof. Ph.D. Halil Mehtic (1953–2025)

It is with deep regret that we inform the academic community and the public that Prof. Dr. Halil Mehtić, long-time dean and one of the founders of the Islamic Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Zenica, has passed away.

Prof. Dr. Mehtić made an immeasurable contribution to the development of higher education in Zenica and the affirmation of Islamic sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With his dedicated work, knowledge and vision, he laid the foundations of the Faculty, which is today recognized as an important higher education institution within the University of Zenica.

He was a respected professor, distinguished pedagogue and author of numerous scientific and professional works, but above all a man who left a deep mark among students and colleagues with his commitment, wisdom and modesty.

The University of Zenica expresses its sincere condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and students of Prof. Halil Mehtić, Ph.D.
