Scholarships of the Government of Japan (MEXT) for the year 2025
The Government of Japan has announced a competition for scholarships for three study programs available to students from Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2025. academic year, who have a desire or interest to study at universities in Japan. The competition is implemented in accordance with the MEXT (Ministry of Culture, Sports, Education, Technology and Science) scholarship program.
Since 1996, more than 50 students from Bosnia and Herzegovina visited Japan and studied there as part of MEXT scholarships.
The program offers scholarships for the three study groups listed below for 2025. year as follows:
- Postgraduate research studies (MA or PhD)
| Who it's for: | Students of any major who want to study at Japanese universities at the postgraduate level, i.e. carry out academic research at the same |
| Title after graduation: | Master / doctor |
| Requirement (applicant's age): | Born on or after April 2, 1990 |
| Scholarship Duration: | 1.5 ~ 2 years (incl 6 months of Japanese language classes for people who have no previous knowledge of the language, or whose knowledge is Japanese. language insufficient for study) |

- Undergraduate studies (graduate/baccalaureate)
| Who it's for: | Students of social, humanities or natural sciences |
| Title after graduation: | Baccalaureate |
| Conditions: | Born on or after April 2, 2000 The applicant must have completed min. 12- annual compulsory and secondary education (primary and secondary school) by March at the latest 2025. years |
| Scholarship Duration: | Eye 5 year (includes one year of Japanese language classes for people who have no previous knowledge of the language, or whose knowledge of the Japanese language is insufficient for study) |

- College of Technology (professional degree and/or baccalaureate)

| Title after graduation: | Graduated specialist / baccalaureate |
| Conditions: | Born on or after April 2, 2000. years The applicant must have completed min. 12- annual compulsory and secondary education (primary and secondary school) by March at the latest 2025. years |
| Scholarship Duration: | Eye 5 year (includes one year of Japanese language classes for people who have no previous knowledge of the language, or whose knowledge of the Japanese language is insufficient for study) |

COSTS COVERED BY SCHOLARSHIPS
The amount of the monthly scholarship that would be paid to interested candidates from Bosnia and Herzegovina amounts to 117.000 yen to 145.000 yen (the amount of the scholarship can be increased by 2.000 or 3.000 yen, depending on the region)
DEADLINES
- All applicants must submit the necessary documentation to the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina by 24. 5. 2024. year to 17h,
- Documents that arrive at the Embassy of Japan in BiH after this date will not be taken into consideration,
– Testing for MEXT 2025. will be held in June 2024 (including interviews).
