MY ERASMUS+ EXPERIENCE, Groningen – Sultana Haddad, Faculty of Medicine

My student exchange experience in the Netherlands was truly unforgettable and enriched me both professionally and personally. I applied without any specific expectations, but this uncertainty turned into an extraordinary journey of discovery and new opportunities. The program lasted two weeks, with the first week being held online. On the first day, we had an introductory lecture, after which I met my group and mentor via video call. During that period, I had the opportunity to participate in numerous interesting lectures, both by professors from UNZE, Dean Prof. Dr. Sc. Harun Hodžić, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Mirza Oruč, Prof. Dr. Sc. Adnan Mujezinović, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Kenan Galijašević, and foreign professors, which further enriched my knowledge.

The second week, when I traveled to Groningen, left a special impression. In that dynamic city, I met students from various countries, and an atmosphere of friendship and cooperation immediately arose. We worked together on a project that based our work during the exchange, and working on it allowed me to get to know different cultures.

The highlight of this experience was the day of the final competition, when all groups presented their projects. I had no idea that my group's idea would be recognized among 40 teams and over 300 students. The day my group won first place will remain in my memory forever. It was the moment when I felt that all the effort paid off, and the team's success further confirms the value of working together and exchanging ideas. I have wonderful memories from this trip and a proudly brought trophy, which will forever remind me of this special moment.

In our free time, we explored the charms of Groningen, and the program ended with an unforgettable boat tour of the city, together with international students. This experience, which I will forever carry in my heart, is difficult to describe in words – it was a true journey of discovery, friendship and personal growth. Therefore, I recommend all students to apply for such programs, do not miss the opportunities that our University offers us.

I would like to thank the University of Zenica, Faculty of Medicine, and especially Professor Mirza Oruč, who was available at all times for our questions and for his constant support during this period.
