On Tuesday, 27.11.2018. two public lectures at the Faculty of Polytechnic and Mechanical Engineering
At 14:00 in the amphitheater of the Polytechnic Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mirsad Hadžikadić (Institute of Complex Systems at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte) will hold a public lecture on the topic BIG DATA, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND COMPLEX SYSTEMS.
The lecture is primarily intended for students of the "Software Engineering" department, but it will also be open to other interested students and staff of the University of Zenica who want to learn more about this topic.
Prof. Dr. Mirsad Hadžikadić is the first president of the Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington DC and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian-American Academy of Sciences and Arts (BHAAS). After receiving a doctorate in computer engineering from Southern Methodist University in the USA, where he was a Fulbright scholar, he has been working at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since 1987. His research spans the fields of analytics, cognitive science, medical informatics, and complex adaptive systems. Prof. Dr. Hadžikadić was the director of Medical Informatics and Orthopedic Informatics at Carolinas Healthcare System from 1991 to 1997 and a manager at Deloitte and Touche Consulting in 1998. From 1998 he was the dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering, from 2000 the founding dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and from 2008 the founding director of the Institute for Complex Systems.
At 16:00 in the reading room of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ph.D. Nenad Drvar (TOPOMATIKA doo Zagreb, three-dimensional scanning, optical measuring systems and computer processing) will hold a public lecture on the topic OPTICAL MEASURING SYSTEMS FOR MEASURING SHAPE, DISPLACEMENT AND DEFORMATION.
The lecture was conceived on the optical equipment for 3D measurement of displacements and deformations of the German manufacturer GOM GmbH, with a special emphasis on measurement principles and interesting applications in mechanical engineering. The lecture is particularly interesting for students of the postgraduate study "Metrology", and academic staff dealing with metrology, quality control, production, reverse engineering, 3D printing, vibration analysis, experimental mechanics... The lecture is divided into two parts, shape measurement and measurement of displacements and deformations. Live demonstrations and interesting examples run throughout the lecture. Lecture participants will be able to see equipment for 3D shape measurement, 3D displacement and deformation measurement (on the surface of the object) as well as optical 3D positioning: ATOS Core, TRITOP, ARAMIS, ARGUS.
