PRESS RELEASE - Minister Mušija is misleading the public with ignorance and media manipulation

On the occasion of the media reports about the alleged verdict that is related to the status of the rector of the University of Zenica, we inform the public that this is a deliberate and tendentious deception.

The decision of the Cantonal Court, which is being reported by certain portals, has nothing to do with the position of the rector.

This is a lawsuit that relates to a completely different procedure, and not at all to the issue of the legality of the election and status of Prof. Dr. Jusuf Duraković. The procedure in which the issue of the legality of the election of the rector is being resolved is being conducted pursuant to a lawsuit filed by the University of Zenica on 18.07.2025 under number 04 0 U 016167 25 U 3.

It is clear that these are texts commissioned by the client, which is already known to everyone. This media frenzy is just an attempt to soften the defeat of the policy before the Municipal Court in Zenica in the procedure for a temporary security measure. We remind you that the decision of the Cantonal Court has already been made, rejecting the Government's appeal and confirming that Jusuf Duraković is the legal rector of the University of Zenica.

We did not want to announce that decision, nor to rejoice, out of the desire to finally move politics away from the university.

However, it is obvious that the policy has no intention of backing down, so for that reason, but also due to the need for the public to be fully informed, we will announce this decision in a separate statement.

To best illustrate the inaccuracy of such reporting, we leave the ZDC Government with a simple task: let them, based on this verdict, attempt to have the rector removed from the court register. The University of Zenica will duly pay all court costs of such proceedings.

Until then, we say - the University of Zenica remains strong, autonomous and unwavering, with its rector and vice-rectors at its helm.
