Regarding the untrue statements of Prime Minister Nezir Pivić – Law has defeated politics

The University of Zenica strongly denies the incorrect and politically motivated claims made by the Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Nezir Pivić, in the media, that "the court rejected the measure on the status of the rector" and that "no one has recognized Rector Jusuf Duraković". These statements represent a desperate attempt to deceive the public after the legal defeat of the ZDC Government before the Municipal Court in Zenica.

The truth is this: The Court adopted a temporary measure that allows the University of Zenica to function undisturbed and perform all legal actions through its authorized representative – Rector Prof. Dr. Jusuf Duraković. This has destroyed the entire structure of political pressure, illegal blockades and attempts to place the University under party control.

This example clearly shows how far the government is willing to go – to misinterpret laws, ignore the court registry, disregard Senate decisions, and ultimately manipulate court decisions, all for the sake of a political fight against one man and one institution.

We call on Prime Minister Pivić to stop suffocating the University and to finally start working on the development of the Canton, because it has already become clear to the public who is behind the crisis in education.

For us, this story is over. Law has defeated politics and returned it to where it belongs - in spins, deceptions and tabloid statements. The university remains a bastion of legality, knowledge and resistance to all attempts at political violence.
