SCI & TECH CHALLENGE 2024

This year, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Zenica held a competition for high school students called "Sci&Tech Challenge". After the students showed a great interest in a competition of this format last year, FIPN organized the second "Sci&Tech Challenge". This competition is designed in such a way that students, with the help of their professors, identify the subject of research in the field of natural and technical sciences, conduct the necessary research, prepare papers and present the obtained results. The research results were presented today at the final conference.

12 secondary schools from Zenica, Kakanj, Breza and Travnik registered their participation in the competition. 20 teams of students participated in the competition, and the total number of active students is about 90. This event was attended by about 250 students and high school teachers. Appropriate cash prizes are provided for the winning teams, and for all students who participated in the competition, this represents an extraordinary opportunity to develop their own research and analytical skills.

The students of the schools involved in this project had the opportunity to become familiar with the basics of research work and the opportunities that the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences provides to its students by attending the final event.

 The faculty has modern research equipment that is used in research projects as well as for student education. Future freshmen can choose to study in one of five study programs: Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety and Fire Protection, and Environmental Protection Engineering. Diplomas of all study programs represent a solid foundation for building a career in metal and non-metal industries, construction, chemical industry, sanitation and environmental protection, occupational safety and fire protection, and numerous other professional, scientific and technical activities.
