Student conference in the field of cultural studies "Culture in the time of distance" 

Department of Cultural Studies, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica April 27 and 28, 2021, starting at 11:00 a.m organizes the first Bosnia and Herzegovina online student conference called "Culture in the time of distance". As part of the Conference, students will present their works on four subtopics:Identities in disguise“, “Distance as a way of life“, “Media and social networks in the age of pandemic” and “Studying in the age of a pandemic“.

At the conference, students will attempt to problematize some of the cultural dilemmas we are faced with in the age of the pandemic with their presentations: will the current existential state in which our daily habits have changed be temporary, after which we will return to "normal" life, or it will cause irreversible changes in society, culture and the current way of life. Also, through their presentations, students will try to determine the social and cultural consequences of restricting freedom of movement and normal communication. After the presentation of the students within each of the planned sub-topics, a student debate is planned, in which all those present will have the opportunity to present their position on the mentioned topics.

For the first day of the Conference, an introductory presentation by theater and film director, social activist Dina Mustafić is planned, and for the second day, a presentation by cultural expert and member of the Board of Directors of the Peace Network of BiH, Nerdžis Čaplja. The conference will be moderated by the teachers of the Department of Cultural Studies, prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić, assistant professor Ph.D. Mirza Džananović, Assoc. Ph.D. Hazim Begagić and vice-prof. Ph.D. Esad Delibasic.
