SCI&TECH CHALLENGE 2023 FINAL COMPETITION HELD

Yesterday, the final SCI&TECH CHALLENGE 2023 competition was held at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology of the University of Zenica, in which 18 teams from 9 technical schools from the Zenica-Doboj and Central Bosnia Cantons participated.

The SCI&TECH CHALLENGE project is a competition for high school students designed in such a way that high school students, with the help of their teachers, as well as teachers of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology and researchers from the Kemal Kapetanović Institute, identify the subject of research in the field of science and technology, conduct the necessary research (using MTF resources and IKK), prepare papers and appropriate presentation of the obtained results. The students have been conducting research for the past three months, and yesterday they presented the results of their work to the audience in the crowded amphitheater of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology.

The expert jury had the difficult task of selecting the winning teams from eighteen excellent presentations, which were also presented with cash prizes.

The first place was won by the team of the First Gymnasium Zenica (A. Biogradlija, E. Ekinović, K. Fetić, A. Kaknjo, F. Kurić), the second place went to the Mixed High School "Hazim Šabanović" Visoko (E. Semič, H.Hrnjić , Š.Kaplan and H. Smajić) and third place was won by the team of the Mixed Industrial High School Zenica (E. Mešković, B. Spahić, I.Kadrić).

"This project has benefits for the faculty and the University of Zenica, which is the popularization of technical sciences, especially today when studying at technical faculties is not something that is very popular. This is one of the best ways to promote the faculty and the University of Zenica. The faculty management's plan will be to turn this competition into a traditional event." - said the dean, Prof. Dr.Sc. Farzet Bikić.
