Visit of the representatives of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the University of Zenica to the Forestry Faculty of the University of Belgrade and the 56th Furniture Fair

On 07.11.2018. representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica visited the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Belgrade, and then the 56th International Furniture Fair in Belgrade. Representatives of AL-EX Zenica and Zenica Development Agency - ZEDA also took part.

On behalf of the Dean, Prof. Ph.D. Ratko Ristić was hosted in front of the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Belgrade by Vesna Golubović Ćurguz, Vice-Dean of Education, Nebojša Todorović, President of the Department Council for Technologies, Management and Design of Furniture and Wood Products, and Vice-Prof. Jelena Matić, MA, Department of Technologies, Management and Design of Furniture and Wood Products.

During the visit, they discussed the areas of activity of both Faculties within the framework of student education, scientific and research work, cooperation with the economy, laboratory capacities, exchange of teachers and students within the framework of ERASMUS+, CEEPUS and other networks, areas of possible cooperation between the two Faculties, and especially in the field of cooperation related to the Department of Design and Technology in Wood Processing, which is planned for the next academic year at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Zenica.

Also, on this occasion, representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica visited the laboratories for primary wood processing, the furniture quality control institute, the center for machines and tools for woodworking, the arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry.

As part of their visit to the 56th Furniture Fair in Belgrade, the representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering had the opportunity to visit the exhibition facilities with a special emphasis on visiting the BIESSE stand, as well as the exhibition spaces of renowned companies for the production of high-quality elements of top design, i.e. design-oriented companies: GAZZDA, BARK, NATUZZI, etc. The entire wood industry was presented at the Fair - from the stage of primary wood processing to the production of final products. The "scope" of this manifestation also includes interior decoration, as well as the promotion of products from all related industries - producers of a wide variety of raw materials and machines used in the production of furniture.

We would like to thank the representatives of the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Belgrade for organizing the meeting, for a pleasant working stay and for the expressed desire for cooperation. Also, we would like to thank the representatives of the BIESSE company for the nice reception, and the operational discussion regarding further activities regarding the construction of the Show Room Center at the University of Zenica.

The visit was organized as part of the EU GIZ ProLocal project for the development of a new study process Design and Technology in Wood Processing (DTD) at the Ministry of Finance UNZE and an innovative process of networking with the business sector.
