01.02.2019. CIP AND MF UNZE: VISIT TO PREVENT COMPANY (GIZ-DTD_EU PRO-LOCAL)

In the continuation of the implementation of business visits as part of the final phase of the project Development of an innovative process of education and networking in the field of wood processing in Central Bosnia (giz-dtd_EU pro-local), the head of the project team Prof. Dr. Darko Petković with associate assistant Emir Đulić visited the company PREVENT in Visoko. In recent years, this company has become one of the most important BH furniture manufacturers, combining what they have been producing for years (leather, textiles) with new contemporary wooden forms. This is how the products of upholstered beds, chairs, etc. were created. and what is particularly interesting is the interior program for yachts with its own production line. It was this factory in the village of Goruša that was visited by the UNZE team, which was hosted by the manager of this plant, Elvedin Tukulić, B.Sc. toured the factory and a particularly interesting part of the factory - the department for making tools for pressing complex geometric shapes from wood. Ing. Tukulić presented a number of interesting tool solutions that were made both for Prevent and for other BH companies, as well as several of his own composite material solutions that were installed in yachts. This was followed by a tour of the plant for sewing sports jackets for motorcyclists, where a large number of tools to aid in the production process and quality control are made of wood in the adjacent plant. In the afternoon, a meeting was held with the director of the Prevent factory at the Visoko location, M.Sc. Zlatan Uzunović, with whom we discussed the modalities of cooperation in 2019, planned new products for 2019, interest in practice, preparation of diplomas and employment of a larger number of students from UNZE. Along with the invitation for employees to participate in the seminars at the Ministry of Education and Culture UNZE in February 2019, work on two new laboratories that are being developed at the Ministry of Education and Culture was also discussed: IT Design Lab and FabLab - a laboratory that will serve for the manual-machine development of wood products . A short English dictionary for woodworkers was also presented. Prof. Petković asked the management of PRVENT to help equip the IT design lab. The DTD study program was presented, with the expectation that, with solid cooperation with companies in the region, it will represent one of the most important resources for the future development of this sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prof. Petković especially presented the technology of 3D scanning and the importance it can have for the Prevent group. There was also talk about the model of dual (cooperative) education, which in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a great opportunity, especially for the woodworking sector, because the study of Design and Technology in Woodworking is conceived as a DUAL MODEL. Until the creation of legal regulations in BIH for this type of study, it will be implemented as a COOPERATIVE study model with numerous partners in the project.
