11.02.2019. FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND OFFICE FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION UNZA: LECTURE FOR STUDENTS AND HIGH SCHOOLS IN ZENICA

As part of the activities of the STINT project - "Strengthening internationalization in higher education in BiH". (Strengthening of Internationalization in B&H Higher Education / STINT)" as part of the Erasmus+ program and the project Development of an innovative process of education and networking in the field of woodworking in Central Bosnia (giz-dtd_EU pro-local), the head of the UNZE project team Prof. topic: Bologna Process, Internationalization and our role in this process. In front of more than 90 graduates in two classes, the basic determinants of the Bologna process and the importance of university internationalization as an important element of the work of higher education organizations in the 21st century were presented. On the practical example of the development of the Department of Design and Technologies in Wood Processing (DTD) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, which was developed for several years in cooperation with the universities of Bern (Switzerland), Rosenheim and Hanover (OWL-Lemgo) and Trieste (Italy), it was shown how foreign experiences can be used in the development of modern study programs at our universities. Prof. petković also presented two new laboratories that are being developed at the Ministry of Education: IT design Lab and FabLab-laboratory which will be used for manual-machine development of wood products. There was also talk about the model of dual (cooperative) education, which is only partially present in higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was emphasized that this concept is mostly practiced by universities and colleges in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark, and that it is a great opportunity especially for the wood processing sector. The Design and Technology in Wood Processing study was conceived as a DUAL MODEL, and until the creation of legal regulations in BIH for this type of study, it will be implemented as a COOPERATIVE study model. The graduates were particularly interested in how mobility is achieved, what and how ECTS points are calculated, what is the difference between TH and FH in some European countries (Germany, Austria), whether it is possible to continue studying in the EU from BH University, how our students can enroll in foreign universities, what did the Bologna process change compared to the study system before the Bologna Declaration, etc. For particularly interested students, Prof. Petković announced special classes at the MF UNZE on the topics of 3D scanning, modeling and 3D printing.
