16.03.2018. CIP UNZE: VISIT TO THE INTERIO FAIR IN SARAJEVO

The traditional fair of furniture manufacturers in the center of Skenderija in Sarajevo was an opportunity to present to the representatives of the business sector from woodworking the activities on the launch of the study program Design and Technologies in Woodworking at the MF UNZE and the activities of the MF as part of the RIPEUD project - Development of an innovative process of education and networking in the field of woodworking in Central Bosnia. Unfortunately, the fair show itself is only a lukewarm representation of the very strong woodworking sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was dominated by companies selling furniture, mostly from imports and mostly from the part that de facto has little contact with the real woodworking sector - i.e. textile program within wood processing. However, even such a meager presentation of the BH economy in this sector did not hinder the CIP team for a series of useful meetings with very talented teams of students from the Academy of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Architecture of UNSA, who were invited to cooperate with their fellow students in the IDEA-lab centers of UNZE. It should be emphasized the very meaningful conversations with the owners of the small trade company Tugra, who appeared at the fair with a series of interesting design solutions, as well as with the representatives of the company Divan from Vitez. The absence of eminent companies from this sector such as Artisan, MS Wood, Tamex, Secom, Ambienta, Economic, Palavra, Standard and numerous others was evident.
