19.09.2018. MF AND CIP UNZE: VISIT TO MOSTAR
Activities on the RIPEUD project - Development of an innovative process of education and networking in the field of wood processing in Central Bosnia, continued with a visit to Mostar, which had several meaningful topics. The first was a visit to the academic literature fair of universities and publishers from FBIH, which was held for the first time in Mostar, organized by the Federal Ministry of Education. Unfortunately, an insight into the editions that were presented in Mostar showed that in the BH academic space so far there have been extremely few editions that are directly related to the design or technology sector in woodworking, which in this way also shows how important it is that this business sector in BiH receives academic and professional development support through the printing of titles that will have topics from this field. After the visit to the Fair, a visit was made to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing of the University of Mostar (SUM), where Prof. Darko Petković and Associate Professor Džafer Dautbegović had a meeting with Acting Dean Prof. Željko Stojkić and Vice-Dean Associate Professor Boris Crnokić. In a conversation with the FSR management, the guests from Zenica presented the GIZ RIPEUD project and the preparation for the organization of the DTD study (Dizajn i Technology in Draw processing). The common topic of the meeting was the construction of special training centers that are being built at UNZE and SVEMO. It is about the future BH Biesse training and show room center that is planned to be built in Zenica at UNZE, i.e. a modern training center for the Industry 4.0 concept. which FSR is developing with eminent companies from the metal and plastic sector in the automotive industry (the so-called SMART factory). Dean Stojkić presented this project, after which he toured the construction site at the SUM campus with the guests from Zenica. Namely, the FSRacing team, founded by students and professors of the FSR for the "Formula Student" competition, has been operating at FSR for years. It is the largest competition in the field of motor sports and student innovations in the world. After the initial idea, through numerous conversations and presentations, the team was formed in 2013 (more information is available at http://fsre.sum.ba/fsracingteam/). At this moment, the procedure is in the making of a new car. Against the background of these experiences, cooperation with companies from the metal and energy sector and the plastic industry of Herzegovina, an excellent base was created for the development of mechatronics as a field of study and research. All this was an excellent recommendation to eminent manufacturers, including Hyundai, to get involved in this success story and work on the development of the SMART-factory. Dean Prof. Stojkić and Director of CIP UNZE Prof. Petković continued the earlier story and work on preparing applications for larger international projects that should ensure an even better connection of the faculty and teaching content with the business sector.
