21-24.09.2017. CIP UNZE: Participation in the seminar in Trieste
Trieste Science and Technology Park in Italy hosted a seminar entitled: Workshop on Proof of Concept (PoC) in South Eastern Europe. At the seminar, among more than 100 participants from all over Europe, there was also a delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina, including two representatives of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Zenica (CIP UNZE): the director of the Center, prof. Dr. Darko Petković, and the secretary of the Center, Lamija Subašić, prof. . In the two-day work of the seminar, examples of best practice in the countries of the Balkan region, challenges and opportunities that are characteristic of the stages of technological transfer and innovation were presented.

During the seminar, CIP UNZE representatives had a series of useful meetings with colleagues who deal with similar issues in the region, and above all with Prof. Andrea Piccaluga, president of the Italian network of HEIs for the valorization of scientific and research work (www.netval.net), Ph.D. Senate Šelo Šabić, research associate from the Institute for Development and International Relations (Department for International Economic and Political Relations - www.irmo.hr ) and Ph.D. Srđan Verbić, ex-Minister of Science in the Government of Serbia and now a key person for innovative entrepreneurship and information technology in the Secretariat for Public Policies of the Government of the RS. Thanks to the kindness of Dr. Nataša Skoko, a visit to the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology within the Trieste Science Park was organized for the participants from ex-YU. The target areas of cooperation have been preliminarily agreed upon and will be specified in bilateral protocols in the following period. The seminar was excellently organized by the European Commission - Joint Research Center (JRC).
